Traveling to Ireland to photograph an elopement has always been a dream of mine. While I was researching, I couldn’t help but imagine the dreamiest of elopements at every single one of these locations. If you are planning an Ireland elopement, I am your girl! And if you’re thinking about ditching the traditional wedding and going with an adventure elopement, this is your sign! I promise you, when you scroll through these photos you will fall in love with these locations. Because who doesn’t want to get married in a castle? Keep scrolling to see my pick for the 5 best places to elope in Ireland.
01. The Cliffs of Moher, Co Clare, Ireland
The Cliffs of Moher are one of the most beautiful sites in Ireland. Standing on the cliffs you are 702ft above the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean. So if heights aren’t your thing this might not be the place for you. But other than that this site absolutely perfect for your adventure elopement.
02. Dunluce Castle, Co Antrim, Northern Ireland
Like I said before, who doesn’t want to get married in a castle? These incredible Castle ruins are located on the coast of Northern Ireland. They were originally built in the 1500s so they make the perfect spot for any medieval and fairytale wedding lovers.
03. Menlo Castle, Co Galway
This ivy-covered 16th-century castle is the perfect location for the bride who loves the gorgeous scenery of Ireland but isn’t a huge fan of the heights of the cliffs. At Menlo Castle, we get away from the cliffs and instead see the peaceful River Corrib flowing by. You are able to enter the ruins so can choose to have your ceremony inside or outside.
04. The Dark Hedges, Co Antrim, Northern Ireland
For any Game of Thrones fans this site may look familiar. In the show it it is referred to as “The King’s Road.” Being features in the show had made this site quite the tourist attraction, so if you choose to have your ceremony here you would have to go at sunrise to avoid crowds. But trust me, it will be so worth it!
05. Corcomroe Abbey, Co Clare, Ireland
Corcomroe Abbey is a 13th Century Cistercian monastery. Not only is this location absolutely gorgeous in every way, but there are also areas of the Abbey that will provide shelter if you don’t want your ceremony to be affected by the Irish weather. The Cliffs of Moher are only a 45 minutes drive away, so you can choose to explore two locations for extra portraits.
I hope this list inspired you to start planning your adventure elopement! Like I said earlier, photographing an Ireland elopement is a DREAM of mine. So if any of these location sparked your interest, reach out to me here and let’s start planning. For more elopement inspiration, click here.
