Did you know that Michigan is one of the top states to elope to?! I am so excited to find myself back in Michigan because there are so many gorgeous places for elopements and intimate weddings! Picturesque downtowns, stunning waterfalls, and beautiful lakefronts – just to name a few! Here are my top 10 places to elope in Michigan!

 

Elope in West Michigan

1 Silver Lake Sand Dunes

The Silver Lake Sand Dunes are located between Silver Lake and Lake Michigan. At the southernmost point of the Dunes, you’ll find Little Sable Point Lighthouse, which makes a beautiful backdrop for a Michigan elopement. Other spots in the area include charming churches and historic barns. No matter what elopement vibe you’re going for, there’s a good chance you’ll find it here!

2 Glass House

Glass House is a unique wedding and event venue perfect for your Michigan elopement! Situated west of Grand Rapids, Glass House boasts a greenhouse, beautiful grounds, a farmhouse, cottage, and barn. This venue can accommodate up to 50 wedding guests for your intimate wedding or elopement. 

3 Downtown Grand Rapids

If you’re looking for a more urban vibe for your Michigan elopement, Grand Rapids is the perfect city! If you choose to elope in Grand Rapids, you can go for a courthouse wedding, or get married at one of the city’s many breweries, gardens, or other attractions, framed by a beautiful downtown skyline and riverfront!

5 Torch Lake

With bright turquoise waters reminiscent of the Caribbean, it’s easy to forget you’re in Michigan when you elope at Torch Lake! It may be known for raucous sandbar parties, but with 19 miles of shoreline, there are plenty of beautiful spots for an intimate wedding.

6 Mackinac Island

Mackinac Island has been a popular tourist destination since the 1800s, which you can see from the architecture of its many bed & breakfasts. The charming downtown and miles of shoreline make Mackinac Island a picturesque spot for a sweet elopement.

7 Munising Falls

Dreaming of a waterfall elopement? Munising Falls is a 50-foot waterfall with several viewing platforms perfect for your Michigan elopement. All you have to do is walk the short ¼ mile hike and you’ll be rewarded with beautiful views. 

8 Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park

As the largest state park in Michigan, it’s no surprise that there are tons of beautiful places to elope in Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park! You can find waterfalls, riverbanks, miles of Lake Superior shoreline, and plenty of trails and scenic overlooks. 

9 Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

Conde Nast listed Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore as the “most beautiful place” in Michigan, and it’s easy to see why! From sandstone cliffs to waterfalls to beaches and sand dunes, this is another Michigan park that really seems to have it all.

10 Belle Isle Park

Located on a 982-acre island, Belle Isle Park is an escape from the hustle and bustle of Detroit. The green spaces and water views make a beautiful backdrop to your Michigan elopement, and the island is also home to an aquarium and conservatory
